Objectives of the programme: 

To significantly increase access to assistive technology products by expanding their availability through primary healthcare, strengthening the existing health system by integrating essential rehabilitation services with assistive technology product provision.

 

Programme description: Tajikistan is part of the regional programme with a total investment of USD 3.2 million
 

 

 

Programme results:
The Government of Tajikistan has approved a comprehensive National Action Plan on Assistive Technology and Rehabilitation, and has established a National AT Quality Assurance Committee to ensure quality control and effective implementation. 
The revised Assistive Product List (APL) has increased the number of available products by 72 per cent. Assistive Product Specifications (APS) were reviewed and refined for 20 assistive products. 
One-stop assistive product (AP) service points are now fully operational in 12 health centers, effectively covering the assistive technology needs across the four pilot districts.
