About ATscale
Our vision
To ensure every person can access and afford the assistive technology they need, enabling a lifetime of potential.
Our mission
We catalyse action, amplify existing work and bring global partners together under a unified strategy to increase availability of, and access to, assistive technology.
Our goal
To ensure 500 million more people globally are reached with life-changing assistive technology by 2030.
The potential scope of assistive technology is very large. To focus our work, ATscale has initially identified five priority prFour red line icons representing a hearing aid, a wheelchair user, eyeglasses, anoduct areas: hearing aids, wheelchairs, eyeglasses, prostheses, and assistive digital devices and software.

Guiding principles
ATscale is guided by a set of core principles.
- User-centric: Putting the needs, interests and rights of assistive technology users at the centre of all initiatives;
- Equitable: Ensuring all individuals have the opportunity to access assistive technology to improve their quality of life, with a particular focus on underrepresented and vulnerable populations;
- Catalytic: Making small but strategically targeted investments that can trigger systemic change and address barriers;
- Galvanizing: Building momentum and encouraging collaboration among a diverse set of stakeholders to push large-scale change;
- Evidence-based: Building and using the required data to focus on, and invest in, what works;
- Entrepreneurial: Maintaining a flexible and lean organization that enables innovation among members as well as across the assistive technology sector;
- Empowering: Enabling users, governments, civil societies and other stakeholders to participate in, and take ownership of, country-specific assistive technology initiatives;
products, services, delivery systems, financing, and policies can thrive; - Innovative: Creating an enabling ecosystem where the innovation of AT
products, services, delivery systems, financing and policies can thrive; - Complementary: Complement, respect and build on the work of ATscale’s
partners, including the respective roles, mandates and functions of the
relevant United Nations agencies.
