On the afternoon of 19 January, we hosted a workshop called “Transforming People’s Lives by Scaling Access to Assistive Technology (AT)”.

 

At the end of the workshop, all event attendees gathered and each breakout group shared their solutions.

This event included lightning talks by ATscale CEO Pascal Bijleveld and Disability Rights Activist Dr Victor Santiago Pineda, followed by participatory breakout sessions in which attendees and facilitators collectively brainstormed solutions to specific challenges that we face around increasing awareness and investment towards disability, inclusion and assistive technology.

 

Breakout sessions and facilitators:

  • New funding sources and opportunities for investment, facilitated by Dr Andrea Feigl - CEO and Founder of the Health Finance Institute
  • Ways to engage public policy makers and empower them to lead change, facilitated by Dennis Søndergård - Innovations Manager at UNICEF
  • Compelling narratives, storytellers and media platforms to reach new audiences, facilitated by Ceridwen Johnson - Advocacy and Communications Specialist at ATscale
