The Orthopaedic Component Factory (OCF) in Cambodia plays a pivotal role in strengthening the country's rehabilitation and assistive technology ecosystem, with potential to also serve as the regional AT distribution hub.

Established to locally produce high-quality mobility related assistive products, especially prosthetic and orthotic components, the OCF addresses the growing demand for affordable, durable, and context-appropriate mobility aids.

Operated under the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY) and supported by development partners, the OCF reduces reliance on costly imports while building local technical capacity. ATscale supported the government’s efforts to strengthen the OCF through a situational analysis and the development of a business strategy.

Both the analysis and the strategy were presented to the government, which subsequently committed to enhancing the OCF. As part of this commitment, the government has already initiated efforts by procuring essential equipment for the facility.
