When Danna (2) arrived at the World Wide Hearing hearing clinic, she was very serious and silent. After having her hearing aids fitted, she began to smile and giggle and laugh.

Objectives of the programme: To achieve key milestones including the successful completion of the ATA-C report and the assistive technology roadmap, development of communication materials, monthly awareness-raising meetings, and formalization of a technical working group to finalize the assistive technology roadmap.

Programme description: ATscale worked with Momentum Wheels for Humanity to assess and improve the assistive technology landscape in Peru. This included the formation of a Technical Working Group, carrying out a capacity assessment (ATA-C), drafting of an assistive technology roadmap and awareness-raising events and media. The programme also held a virtual introduction to assistive technology for Ministry of Health medical staff.

Programme results:
Accessible awareness-raising videos were developed (one in Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara on the situation of AT in Peru, and another on the development of the AT roadmap).
A significant development was the formalization of a technical working group in Peru on June 24th, via Presidential Resolution.
The programme has drafted Peru assistive technology national roadmaps.
