We are pleased to invite you to join ATscale’s upcoming Discussion Series on Market Shaping in the Assistive Technology Sector. This sector faces multiple challenges including informational asymmetry, fragmented demand, high prices, limited supplier competition and high barriers to market entry. The challenges are deeper in low- and middle-income countries, with evidence showing that only 1 in 10 persons in low-income countries can access the assistive products they need. This discussion series will focus on demystifying and deep-diving into different facets of market barriers with the aim to foster cross-sectoral learning and collaboration toward building healthy and sustainable AT markets, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
The first webinar in the series is on the topic Guidance for Market Entry in AT: Focus on select African countries scheduled on 27 May, 11:00 AM-12:00 PM (CET). The discussion will be structured as a cross-sectoral dialogue with representatives from the public and private sectors and NGOs on the challenges of market entry in the African AT sector, stories of success and the path forward. ATscale will also take this opportunity to launch the Guidance for Market Entry in the AT sector which was developed in collaboration with Altai Consulting and Ariane Laplante-Lévesque, technical expert.
