Advisory Technical Group
The ATscale Advisory Technical Group is a multidisciplinary group, with members who have a range of experience, notably including members with a lived experience of using assistive technology. We aim to balance lived experience, technical knowledge, expertise, and skills from the broad range of disciplines relevant to assistive technology, geographical representation with an emphasis on low- and middle-income countries, and gender balance.
The group has been set up to provide independent advice on issues and documents such as those pertaining to ATscale’s priority setting, annual work plan, country engagements, and global goods interventions with respect to the strategic value and potential impact, programmatic merit (such as technical soundness, viability, value for money), and possibly other aspects, drawing on the scientific and technical expertise and/or lived experience of use of AT of its members.
The overall group consists of three overlapping sub-categories:
National and international independent experts - who may or may not themselves make use of AT - from a roster established through a public call and competitive selection process
Users of AT who are experts on the AT they use - this sub-category is managed by ATscale partner IDA
Staff from ATscale partner organizations in their personal capacity as technical experts or users of AT
For each instance where advice is required, we will draw on relevant members of this group.
Advisory Technical Group members serve in a personal capacity and do not represent their organizations when providing input and advice. All input and recommendations from the ATscale Advisory Technical Group are advisory.
