Objectives of the programme: To scale-up assistive technology access for persons with disabilities and older people, through national and sub-national activities, focusing on policy change, improved data, awareness, building capacity, integrating assistive technology into universal health coverage (UHC), and sharing knowledge..
Programme description: ATscale worked with HelpAge International UK and Pusat Rehabilitasi YAKKUM to assess and improve the assistive technology landscape in Central Java and nationally.
Programme results:
 | The programme supported the rATA data collection, which was largely conducted by persons with disabilities, fostering strong community ownership of the programme activities. The survey results informed advocacy, integrated IT systems, services, and assistive technology working group priorities. When individuals in need of assistive technology are involved in the process, the solutions are more likely to be effective and sustainable. |
 | With HelpAge support, the programme successfully mobilized multi-stakeholder support, leading to the creation and dissemination of the Central Java AT Roadmap, a crucial document guiding the national strategy for scaling-up assistive technology access. |
