Gender equality through equitable access to assistive technology at the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70)

Join ATscale and UN Women at their side event during CSW70 for the official launch of the policy brief Unlocking HER potential: Gender equality through equitable access to assistive technology.

Access to assistive technology is a critical enabler of the enjoyment of multiple internationally recognized human rights, particularly for persons with disabilities and older people. It is a prerequisite for women’s full and effective participation in all areas of life—from education and employment to leadership and digital spaces. Despite its life-changing potential, millions of women and girls are currently excluded by systems that fail to provide gender-responsive, safe, and accessible solutions.

During the event we will share the key messages, evidence and recommendations from the policy brief. A high-level discussion will feature perspectives from key stakeholders, including from UN Women, ATscale, government representatives, development partners and AT users.
